Six screens, real data.

Taken on a phone that has been logging for months — not a mockup, and not a seeded demo account.

The TerpWise home screen: a terpene fingerprint reading Dominant: Caryophyllene with Limonene and Humulene beside it, two quick-log cards — a vape at 73.6 percent and flower at 30 — a button to log the last product again, and a week summarised as a mix of strains across 17 sessions.
Home. The terpene that leads across every session you have reflected on, and two cards — one per product type — that log a jar without typing.
The stash grouped by category, showing 80.5 grams of flower across 18 items, each with grams remaining, THC percentage and effect or terpene tags, most with a photo of the packaging.
Stash. Grouped by category with what is left of each — 80.5 g of flower across 18 items here — tagged by terpene, effect or type, whichever you pick.
Usage summary for one cart: 60 sessions over 12 days, 79.2 milligrams a day, a gap of about five hours between uses, almost nothing left of the original gram, and roughly 2.6 milligrams per puff across 297 puffs.
One jar TERPWISE+ 79 mg a day across 60 sessions, a gram gone in twelve days, and ~2.6 mg per puff — measured across 297 of them.
The log tab: a reflection waiting to be completed, a weekly snapshot naming the top strain and an average of 5.5 doses a session, a most-felt tile that says there is no data yet rather than inventing one, and the note that morning sessions average 24 percent more doses than evenings.
Log. A reflection waiting at the top, the week in three numbers — and where a number has not been earned yet, it says so rather than filling it. The pattern it did find: mornings run 24% heavier than evenings.
The Ask screen answering "live resin vs live rosin" as a side-by-side table: extraction method, texture, potency at 75 to 90 percent against 65 to 85, terpene retention, and what each is best for — followed by a note that live describes the starting material, not the method.
Ask. Typed the way you would say it, answered side by side — and the distinction most people have backwards: “live” is about the starting material, not how it was extracted.
The education section on solvent-based extracts: shatter at 70 to 90 percent THC, wax and badder at 70 to 85, diamonds at 95 to 99 percent THCa, terp sauce at 40 to 70, each with its extraction method and texture.
Education. How each extract is actually made, and the potency and texture that follow from it — shatter, badder, diamonds, terp sauce.

Nobody else gets a copy.

Most tracking apps are a database with a login on the front. TerpWise has no account to create, because there is nowhere for your journal to go. It lives in the app's own storage on your iPhone, and the only copy is the backup you choose to keep in your own iCloud.

Sanctuary Mode

Put the whole app behind Face ID. It also takes TerpWise out of iPhone search and clears its widgets, because those are readable without unlocking anything.

A different icon

Swap the home-screen icon for a calculator or a compass. The app name stays TerpWise; what sits on your home screen does not have to announce it.

No analytics, at all

No advertising, tracking or crash-reporting frameworks are built into the app. Not "anonymised" — absent. We could not tell you how many sessions you have logged.

It works at the largest text size

Every screen is laid out and tested at the accessibility text sizes, not just the default — and at the narrowest iPhone, where those two collide. Reduce Motion stops the animations rather than ignoring the setting, and the screens are labelled for VoiceOver.

Everything you own, and what's left of it.

Flower, prerolls, carts, edibles, extracts, topicals — each with the amount remaining, the terpenes that lead it, and a photo of the package if you took one. The count goes down as you log, so "how much is left" stops being a guess you make at the dispensary.

How long it will last TERPWISE+

Per jar: sessions logged, average depletion per day, days left at your current pace, and how long you typically go between uses.

What a puff is worth TERPWISE+

For vapes: total puffs, puffs per session, seconds inhaled, and the average dose per puff — measured from your own draws rather than assumed from the box.

Sorted how you think

Group by terpene, effect or type, search by strain or brand, and drag the whole thing into the order that matches your shelf.

Log the chemistry,
not just the name.

A strain name tells you almost nothing — the same name from two growers can be two different plants. TerpWise records the terpenes and cannabinoids on the label, and shows what research has actually studied them for, without telling you how your evening is going to go.

PROFILE
Limonene 0.82%
Myrcene 0.45%
Caryophyllene 0.33%
Linalool 0.12%

Chemist Mode

Pick the effects you are after — relaxed, focused, creative, sleepy — and it matches them against the terpene profiles already in your stash, rather than a catalogue of things you do not own.

Strain browser

Over 500 strains with terpene profiles, lineage and reported effects, searchable by name or filtered by terpene. The same question can be asked across the whole catalogue when you are deciding what to buy next.

Discovery Engine

Chemist Mode asks what is in your stash. This asks the same question of the whole catalogue — pick a feeling and it works outward from the chemistry, so the answer can be something you have never owned.

Ask it in your own words

“Live resin vs live rosin”, “what is a cart”, “is delta 8 safe”. Over fifty written answers covering extracts, terpenes, cannabinoids, the device in your hand and how long each way of taking it lasts — offline, with no model inventing anything. When a question falls outside them it says so instead of guessing.

Studied for, not promised

Terpene descriptions cite what research has looked at. No app can know what a product will do to you, and one that claims otherwise is guessing with a confident font.

It learns what your hardware really delivers.

Every vape dose figure in every app is a model. Ours starts from physics — power, draw length, coil temperature, oil viscosity — and then does the part almost nobody does: it checks itself against reality.

Hold to log a draw

Press while you inhale. TerpWise records the seconds, the power your battery was set to, and the energy that implies — the same numbers the estimate is built from.

A finished cart is a measurement

Tell it how much was left and it divides oil consumed by energy delivered. That is a measured efficiency for your cart — one division, no model in the middle.

A flat battery is another

Say when you charge it and when it stops firing, and the charge gauge stops trusting the number printed on the cell and starts using what yours actually holds.

Two measurements of two different things, kept apart on purpose: a battery teaches the battery gauge, a weighed cart teaches the dose. And until yours have been measured, the app says the figure is an estimate rather than dressing a guess up as data.

Lab reports, read on the phone.

Photograph a package or a certificate of analysis and TerpWise reads it with Apple's own on-device text recognition. The image is never uploaded. On newer iPhones it reads the COA's tables row by row, so a terpene value lands next to the terpene it belongs to instead of whichever number happened to be nearby.

Scan the QR

Most legal packaging carries a link to its lab report. Scan it and the batch data comes across without typing.

ND stays ND

When a lab says a terpene was not detected, the app records absence — not a zero, and never the detection limit sitting in the next column.

It does the THC sum

Most flower reports print THCA and Δ9‑THC as separate rows and leave the arithmetic to you. TerpWise reads both and works out the total the way the lab would.

Tap a jar to log it

Write an NFC tag for anything in your stash. Tap your phone to the jar and the log is already filled in.

Log it now. Say how it went later.

Logging takes two taps, because anything longer does not survive contact with an actual evening. The part that makes months of entries worth something happens afterwards: a short reflection on how it actually went, asked at a moment when you can answer honestly.

Two taps, or the long way

The home screen keeps two cards, one per product type you choose — tap Log and it is recorded and the amount deducted. Otherwise: pick from your stash, start a live session that times each draw, or open the full form.

The reflection

Effects, intensity, onset, how long it lasted. Always skippable — and the app shows what share of your sessions you have actually come back to, because that number is the honest measure of the data.

An evening, not four entries

Sessions that ran together can be grouped into one experience — named, timelined, and read as the thing it actually was. Two carts an hour apart is one evening, and pretending otherwise is how a journal starts lying to you about how much you had.

Taking a break

Turn on T-Break Mode and the home screen stops being a log button: quick log, recent sessions and recommendations are replaced by a day counter and the goal you set. The widget can carry it too.

The weekly read

Top strain, average dose, and the patterns that only appear over time. "Your evening sessions average 28% more doses than mornings" is a real line from the phone in those screenshots — worked out on the device, from that person's own entries.

What your body did afterwards.

Connect Apple Health and TerpWise lines your sessions up against heart rate, HRV and sleep stages, then tells you what it compared against — the last 30 days, always named, because "more than average" means nothing if nobody says which average.

The morning after

Sleep, resting heart rate and how the night compared with your recent baseline — next to what you actually logged the evening before.

It writes back, twice

Mindful minutes for the sessions you log, and on iOS 18 or later the state of mind you record in a reflection. Both land in Apple Health as first-class entries, so the rest of your health picture knows they happened.

Deeper correlation TERPWISE+

Sleep correlation across months, all-time trends and how your terpene fingerprint has shifted — the parts that need a long run of data to say anything at all.

Health data stays put

It is never sent to us, never used for advertising, and never included in the app's iCloud backup. Apple's rules and ours agree on that one.

Two taps, from wherever you are.

Apple Watch

Log a session from your wrist, on watchOS 10 or later. It syncs straight to your iPhone, not through anyone's server.

Stash widget

Pin one jar or see the whole stash — strain type and leading terpenes, and nothing else. No amounts, no counts: a widget is visible to anyone who glances at your phone.

Search and Siri

Your stash and notes turn up in Spotlight, indexed on the device. “Log dose in TerpWise” and “start session in TerpWise” work out loud, and “ask TerpWise” answers a question about extracts or terpenes without opening the app. Sanctuary Mode takes the index straight back out.

Voice notes

Say it instead of typing it. Transcribed on the phone — the recording is not sent to Apple or to us.

It's 4:20 somewhere

An optional nudge when it hits 4:20 somewhere — pick the timezone or let the app surprise you. Entirely unserious, and scheduled on your phone like every other reminder.

Milestones, not points

A handful of one-time markers. No streaks to protect, no XP, no leaderboard — nothing that rewards using more than you meant to.

Your data, and the door out

An app that keeps everything on your device has to make leaving easy, or "private" is just a word on a marketing page.

  • Export the whole journal as a file, whenever you like.
  • Back up to your own iCloud, or switch it off entirely.
  • Delete everything, behind two confirmations — including the search entries, the widget contents and any reminders still scheduled.
  • No lock-in: there is no account to close, because there was never one to open.

The app is free. Some of the analysis isn't.

Logging, your stash, the dose calibration, scanning labels, the morning report, the widget, the Watch app, Sanctuary Mode, export and delete — all of that is the free app, and none of it is time-limited.

TerpWise+ adds

All-time analysis, sleep correlation, how your terpene fingerprint has evolved and what it says about you, the archive of past weekly recaps, per-item economics, effect search, share cards and extra themes — the things that need months of your own data before they say anything true.

The trial is 45 days

Started inside the app. No payment details, nothing charged, and it ends on its own — after which you are on the free plan rather than locked out of your own journal.

Monthly

$4.99/month

Month to month. Cancel in Settings whenever you like.

Yearly

$49.99/year

Two months off the monthly price, and the one that matches how this app is meant to be used — over seasons rather than weeks.

Lifetime

$104.20 once

Pay once and keep it. Nothing renews and nothing to remember.

All three are bought through the App Store. Prices are in US dollars; the store charges in your own currency at its local equivalent. The trial is run by the app rather than by a store subscription, so nothing auto-renews out of it — when it ends, you choose.

Early, and honest about it.

TerpWise is in private TestFlight beta on iPhone and iPad, iOS 16 and later, with an Apple Watch app alongside it. It is not on the App Store yet. Testers are added by hand, one at a time — send a note and you will get a TestFlight invite by email, or a reply saying the round is full.
